Nicole Minasi, LCMHC
(She/Her)
Welcome! I’m Nicole (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have been working with children, teens and young adults for over ten years. Although I primarily practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I recognize there is no “one size fits all” approach that works for everyone. I also draw from principles of: play therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my practice. I’m here to help validate my clients yet also challenge them in a way that helps them grow into the people they’d like to become. Therapy is a journey and I’m looking forward to being a part of that journey for you or your child.
Child Therapy:
Are you concerned about your child’s mood, anxiety or behavior? Do you feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing is working? Let me help! I have worked with children in a wide array of environments including schools, outpatient offices, medical settings, residential programs and as a co-director of a therapeutic summer program. Children don’t always have the awareness or the ability to identify, verbalize and work through what they’re struggling with. That’s where therapy comes in. Through play, art and storytelling, children can start to understand, process and cope with their experiences.
Therapy for Teens:
The teenage years are such a wild ride for everyone! The pressures of today’s world on top of the already tumultuous time that are the teen years can be is so overwhelming. Therapy can provide teens with the safe space they need to sort everything out. Therapy not only serves as an outlet, but can also teach adaptive coping skills, improve motivation and enhance relationships with family, friends, and themselves.
Counseling for Moms & Caregivers:
The experience of being a mom is truly like no other. The balancing act is intense, and it can feel like no matter how hard you try, you’re still dropping the ball somehow. How do I support moms seeking therapy? There are a few ways. I help moms figure out how to better manage their stress and self-care in meaningful ways. I can help them regain a sense of self and handle any difficulties in relationships. Additionally, I can provide parent coaching, which allows moms and caregivers better understand and decrease their children’s challenging behaviors. Parent coaching can lead to improved family relationships and more peace at home. Let me be part of your village; you don’t have to navigate motherhood alone.
About Me:
I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from The University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2013. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, as well as baking, crafting, exercising and listening to True Crime podcasts.
