Angela Bendeck, Clinical Intern
Hello, my name is Angela Bendeck, and I am working as a clinical intern at Women’s Counseling of Nashua while I finish the last year of my Master’s degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Plymouth State University.
My Approach:
I believe therapy can benefit everyone as life can present us with many, varied challenges. Sometimes you just need some support to get through a challenging situation or to figure out how to alleviate the symptoms you are experiencing. Sometimes common, everyday events can also be very stressful, such as experiencing a breakup, job loss, or experiencing any other type of loss or transition. Working with someone can be incredibly beneficial at this juncture to learn new ways to cope and relax the mind and body so that we can start to work through these thoughts and emotions. Additionally, oftentimes we find that there are events from our past or childhood that need to be addressed (if it safe to do so) as they are contributing to our current experiences. That said, I believe everyone has the capacity within to help themselves with the right supports and tools, and that’s where therapy can come in.
I view my role as a therapist as a witness, support, and guide. I aim to offer new insights, perspectives, and techniques while working collaboratively with you to meet your goals. I also strive to provide a safe and supportive place, using a growth-oriented, strengths-based approach to get you feeling better and more empowered.
Special Interests:
I have a special interest in working with individuals experiencing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, but I am interested in supporting individuals through their everyday adjustments and look forward to supporting individuals from all walks of life.
About Me:
I am working towards completion of my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am on track to graduate in August of 2022. My previous work includes working as a Program Coordinator in the intellectual and developmental disabilities service sector supporting adults with behavioral needs and cooccurring mental health disorders. Prior to that position, I also worked as a Direct Support Professional and Manager at a rehabilitation facility supporting adults with traumatic and acquired brain injuries with cooccurring mental health disorders as well.
In my free time, I love to spend time outdoors, hiking, kayaking, or swimming. I also play guitar, piano, and sing when I have the time as well. I believe nature and art/music can be very beneficial to healing and thriving. I am also a big proponent of meditation, yoga, and breathwork for relaxation and staying present.
I look forward to working with you if you think I can be helpful to you in your journey to help yourself.
