Morgan Mierzwa-Winters, LICSW
(She/They)
I seek to meet clients with humility, warmth, curiosity, and humor. I take a collaborative and exploratory stance with clients, as we get to know each other, share therapeutic space focused on you, name and solve problems together, and make the adjustments you’re looking for in your life. I utilize a number of different therapeutic modalities including DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy. I also serve clients with trauma using EMDR and IFS-informed/parts work techniques.
Clinical Interests
I am a queer-identifying and queer-affirming therapist interested in providing clients with knowledge, effective tools, and a comfortable space in which to grow and adapt intentionally. I enjoy working with adolescents (15+) and adults of all genders. I treat a variety of things that bring folks to therapy, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, complex trauma, life transitions/development, neurodivergence, present and past relationship challenges, and issues related to LGBTQ+ identity. I am always learning, and presently working on further integrating multiple evidence-based approaches like IFS/parts work and EMDR. If you’re interested in gaining insight about how your identities and experiences past and present continue to affect your internal and external life, as well as moving forward from the ways these things hold you back, reach out to me!
About Me
I graduated from Boston University with my Master’s in Social Work in 2021, and received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brandeis University prior. I have worked for several years in outpatient therapy, and before that, I worked in residential substance use treatment for pregnant and parenting mothers, a primary-care/substance use clinic, and a partial hospitalization program serving LGBTQ+ adults with acute mental health needs. I have volunteered with community organizations supporting LGBTQ+ folks and their families for years. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy live music, using many media to support my own authentic self-expression, acting with local theater groups, watching cartoons, and spending time being cozy at home with my partner and dog.
