Emma Muller, LCMHC
(She/Her)

Hello! My name is Emma, and I’m glad you’re here! I work primarily with children, teens, and young adults, with a particular interest in supporting adolescents who have experienced complex trauma. My goal is to create a therapy space where you feel heard, supported, and comfortable being yourself.

Approach

My style is warm, supportive, and often includes humor.  I believe that building trust and developing a strong therapeutic relationship are essential to the healing process.  For my younger clients, I take a collaborative approach to treatment planning with both kids and caregivers, meeting my clients where they are and focusing on what feels most important and meaningful to them.  For older teens and young adults, I believe that you are the expert on your own life and I will serve as a guide to help you meet your stated goals. In therapy, my clients can expect validation, psychoeducation, practical coping strategies, and opportunities to challenge and reframe unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. I frequently incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as creative and play-based approaches when appropriate.

Clinical Interests

I have spent the majority of my clinical career working in the children and families department of a community mental health center. I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, self-harm, substance use, relationship concerns, and complex family dynamics. I also have extensive experience working with trauma and I am EMDR-certified. Depending on each client’s needs and goals, I may incorporate EMDR, Flash Technique, or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I also provide family work and parenting support when appropriate.

About Me

I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rivier University in 2020 and my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University in 2023.Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, baking, and making art. I love incorporating creativity into my sessions when possible, and I especially enjoy spending time with my cat! I am also a big fan of music. I value honesty and authenticity, and I hope to create a therapy space where you feel comfortable doing the same.
